The Anatomy of Hate

A Comprehensive Matrix of Anti-Jewish Propaganda

Tropes, Media, Mechanisms, and Paradoxes Across Two Millennia

A free reference from Project Witness, a nonprofit Holocaust education organization in New York. No login, no account.
A note before you begin. This reference reproduces antisemitic propaganda in order to take it apart: medieval woodcuts, Nazi posters, Soviet cartoons, contemporary memes. Every image appears beside an analysis of what it is doing and how. Nothing here is presented without that frame, and nothing here is safe to circulate on its own.

This interactive reference maps the architecture of anti-Jewish propaganda across five interlocking dimensions:

1. Core Libels. The six foundational accusations (blood, greed, disease, idolatry, conspiracy, dual loyalty) that have persisted, in various combinations, for over two millennia.

2. Visual Record Across Eras. How anti-Jewish imagery evolved across seven historical periods, from ancient literary polemic to AI-generated content.

3. Structural Paradoxes. Nine double-bind mechanisms that make antisemitic propaganda unfalsifiable, because the target is condemned regardless of what they do.

4. Media Forms and Propaganda Techniques. A matrix mapping twelve media forms against seven propaganda techniques, showing which combinations are most effective and why.

5. Messaging Taxonomy. A five-level classification from explicit incitement down to ambient normalization, demonstrating that the most dangerous propaganda is often the least visible.

Interactive features: Click any card to expand its full content. Use the sidebar to navigate between sections. The search bar finds content across all dimensions. The Analysis Tool walks you through a five-question framework for deconstructing any piece of propaganda. Click highlighted elements to see cross-references between dimensions.

Propaganda is not random. It is patterned. This document maps the pattern.
